Dimension is what makes color look expensive. Foils, balayage, babylights, and teasylights are all different tools for the same job, which is putting brightness exactly where the light naturally hits your hair.
The technique is chosen based on your starting level, how much contrast you want, and critically, how often you actually want to sit in the chair. A lived in balayage that grows out softly is a very different commitment from a bright foiled blonde that needs a root touch up every eight weeks. Both are great. They just need to be an informed choice.

Aftercare & maintenance
What you do at home decides how long the result lasts. This is the short version, and ViAna will walk you through it in person.
- Use a purple or blue toning shampoo once a week, not every wash.
- Add a bond building treatment to your routine to keep lightened hair strong.
- Avoid chlorine and hard water where possible. Both pull blonde brassy fast.
- Book a toner refresh at six to eight weeks and a full service at three to four months.
- Heat protectant is non negotiable on lightened hair.
Common questions
Highlights are painted onto sections and wrapped in foil, which gives brighter, more uniform lift from the root down. Balayage is hand painted freehand, which gives a softer, sun kissed result with a diffused root. Many clients get a combination of both in one service.
It depends entirely on where your hair is starting and its condition. Going several levels lighter safely often takes two or three sessions spaced weeks apart. ViAna will tell you honestly at consultation rather than overpromising and compromising your hair.
Balayage is the lower maintenance option at roughly three to four months between services. Traditional foil highlights typically need refreshing every six to ten weeks depending on how much contrast there is at your root.
